About the APSC (CCE) Examination
The Assam Public Service Commission Combined Competitive Examination (APSC CCE) is the highest-level state exam conducted to recruit Class-I and Class-II officers for the Government of Assam.
The exam process aligns closely with the UPSC format and occurs in three phases:
Phase I: Preliminary Examination
An objective test serving as a qualifier.
- Paper I (General Studies I): 200 Marks (30% to 35% questions are exclusively based on Assam).
- Paper II (General Studies II): 200 Marks (Qualifying CSAT paper, requiring 33% to pass).
Phase II: Mains Examination
A descriptive test determining your core ranking.
- Paper I: Essay Writing (250 Marks)
- Paper II: General Studies I (Indian Heritage, History and Geography of the World and Society)
- Paper III: General Studies II (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations)
- Paper IV: General Studies III (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management)
- Paper V: General Studies IV (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude)
- Paper VI: General Studies V (Assam-specific Paper) (Note: APSC has removed Optional Papers for Mains)
Phase III: Interview (Personality Test)
